Latest on "Wrong disc inserted"

I bought UE2 and discovered it is version 0.9Beta for UE2.exe and version 1.0 for UE2 settings.exe
When installing patch 1.04 it says i now have version 1.03 and when i install patch 1.05 it says version 1.05.
After installing either patch 1.04 or 1.05, The dreaded message 'Wrong disc inserted" comes up and I cannot start the game
And to date, after checking Ozisoft I find they have no patch for us anzacs.
Neither does Strategy first.
I can play the beta version. Have only tried out all the tutorials and a hundred years of Fantasia.
Have been unable to send traders to new colonies, only colonists.
Now, after a bit of experimenting i am able to play the game with
patch 1.05 installed.
I have played fantasia again same race (Incas) and can now send traders as well as colonists. plus there seems to be more decisions that i have to make which is making UE2 more interesting plus a lot more music.
Would be keen to know if anyone else has Beta version.
I bought mine at Quay computers in Wellington New Zealand, on the 25th May, cost me $100 NZ.

Thought i would add my com specs.
AMD 500 not clocked.
Video card AGP savage 32 meg
390 meg of sd ram
2 harddrives 6.1 gigs, and 545 megs.
standard CD rom drive 52 speed.

thanks yes I have done that.
and Printed out all the instructions from Uglyduck and am sorting through all that, some good stuff there.
have downloaded the setup_inx.zip and will try that out shortly.
I want to say that I think you guys are being very helpful to all of us.
I appreciate the help very much. Keep up the great work you are doing.

I am playing the Spanish v1.04 (still no v1.05 patch for us) and I also did notice that the properties of the eu2.exe file show that it is version 1.03. However, in the main screen corner shows “EU2 v1.04”, so I guess it is normal.

on 1.00 or 1.01, it will say 0.9beta. on 1.04, the properties will say 1.03, but it's really 1.04.

I do not know who made the mistake, probably Johan.
