I've been attempting to fix this for roughly 2 hours. Every time I try to play any paradox game I get the "database path" issue. I do not have Avast anti virus which I seen people having issues with. It also tells me to rename/delete a certain file which I already have and nothing happened. Also tried uninstalling every paradox game plus the launcher and nothing.

We now have reports of this with Avast antivirus only, except just 1 report on AVG. Putting C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2.2021.10.1/paradox launcher.exe in all its exceptions lists, then deleting that sqlite folder one more time, seems to be fixing it reliably.
I also have one report that opting into the beta of the next launcher version 2022.1 helped.

Its been over a week and I am still getting this error as well. 414 games in my Steam library and ONLY the paradox ones are unplayable.
If you are getting the exact error in the OP here, the situation is as I described above - your antivirus is getting in the way!
So the error is normal and the launcher is WAD? Because I have 400 other games that don't seem to be having this problem (albeit I haven't checked them ALL). So far only the paradox titles seem to have this issue.

Of course the error is not normal. Of course it is not WAD to have that or any error.
But the problem is not caused by our software, it is AV apps falsely preventing it from doing its job. What AV app do you use?
After the stroke I was given a new computer. I have no idea, probably avast since that's the one you said is a problem. I am litterally not competent enough any more to go digging around to make shit work. I'm not mad at paradox for this problem, I understand there are millions of lines of code from mutliple different co's written by if not hundreds then thousands of people and it has to mesh together in some magical way I dont understand anymore (cause you know the brain damage) and work properly. All I do know is that I'm disappointed that after a week I still can't play any paradox title, which I use to distract me from the pain I suffer on the entire left side of my body. One of the few therepy's that work is getting lost in silly video games where I can dominate the world, make like I'm holding invisible oranges and chortle mu-hahahaha. SO any ETA on a fix , please hurry, thank you.

I'm afraid we have to rely on you working with us to fix your problem, as this is not an issue that can be patched by us.
Did you try opting into the launcher beta? That's in the Launcher Settings menu.
Otherwise please install and run the free utility Speccy. Send its output to a text file and attach that here, thanks.

Yes I opted into the beta launcher, no it did not fix my problem. You tell me its not a problem on your end, but I have over 400 games, the only ones I cant enjoy at the moment are the paradox titles (+planetfall). Before the update working, after the update not. I don't think this an isolated error so I'm just hoping you all can fix it so I can once again I can enjoy some world conquest (and get back to the invisible oranges and chortling). All I wanted to let you know was I was having a problem, that I hope your fixing. All I'm asking for is an ETA, it would be very appreciated. Or if you are not going to fix it a heads up on that would let me free up some disk space (and cry.)

Just because it doesn't happen to other games, doesn't mean it is something we can fix. Indeed it is not happening to our games at all, as such, but to our launcher - a quite separate application. For some reason Avast and AVG have taken a dislike to some versions of paradox launcher.exe ; there is nothing we can do to change that.
That said, other users have reported that the 2022.1 launcher beta does not suffer from this issue. Is that the version you are on now? If so are you still getting the database error, or some other error, or what exactly is happening now?
And we really need you to confirm what AV app you use. If you don't know, and cannot find out from where you bought your machine, please run Speccy as I mentioned above.

That's interesting, because other Avast users have reported Avast has no problem with it, or at least not this problem. You are definitely getting the database/sqlite error still, is that right?

I uninstalled the launcher, rebooted, tried to launch EU4, and it would not load (Eu4, not the launcher)

You mean by running eu4.exe directly?
Already tried that it runs from the .exe, tells me I have no DLC, that a mod is running, and then crashes when I try to start a new game. I uninstalled the launcher and tried to run EU4 from my desktop and it told me it reinstalled the the launcher, then the launcher opened and would not start EU4 -- despite opting into the beta.
Yes I am getting the database error and EU4 will not open using the launcher. I am getting the database error with all paradox games that use it. I have opt'ed into the beta, I have reinstalled the launcher multiple times.
