I have been trying to play Stellaris for over a week and out of know where I got this error after pressing play on Steam. I am running Windows 11 on the most recent version, Nvidia 2080 Ti, i7-12700K. After I got the MSIE6A error I tried to get me to reinstall the Paradox launcher, but it didn't work and I got the second error. I have tried restarting my PC, uninstalling and reinstalling of the game, verifying the integrity of game cache. I would like help because I got into my most recent game.

Try deleting the entire contacts of that C:\windows\installer\ folder ; not the folder itself, just its contents. They are all temporary files.

To see that folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

If it is not there however, try creating it manually.

Are you sure? articles say that it can be dangerous. "what is C:\Windows\Installer" they say you should not do it

It is a folder used by the Windows installer app msiexec.exe for temporary installation files. I've recommended many people delete its contents (NOT the folder itself) with no repercussions.

But is it there, did you find it?

I found the folder and deleted all the contents. Then, I relaunched Stellaris, and the Launcher appeared, and I got into the game. Thanks for the help, Have a Merry Christmas!
