Launcher error...

Folks I obviously have a problem...
I keep getting the following error..."Lancher has encountered a problem and needs to close."
I have uninstalled, deleted the folder, downloaded the 1.2 patch, re-installed and immediately patched. Ran dxdiag with no problems found and still got the same error.
I am, of course, not very happy this happened or that I have had to go through the hassle of registering just to get to the info on this forum. I would appreciate getting to the point where I could play the game rather than dealing with returning this product.

I have the same problem. Software companies should be held accountable for selling trash like this game. I had mine for 1 day. 50 bucks wasted. I am done with paradox.

This was my Father's day gift...same deal first day, haven't even seen the intro...not very happy.

I'm sorry you've had problems so far, I can only reassure you that we've been able to get pretty much everyone going. Your dxdiag.txt looks fine, please post your settings.txt and system.log. Thanks.

Here you go...looked in the logs folder and it was empty...is this the location for the system log you are looking for? If it is it sort of makes sense since the game has never successfully launched/gotten past the launcher error!!

are you able to just run the game exe without going through the launcher? go to the folder you installed the game in and run RomeGame.exe.

Yes, it should be there after a successful install. Have you applied the 1.2 patch successfully?

Edit your settings.txt and set refreshrate=60 .
