I keep getting this everytime I try to launch the game.
I have installed, uninstalled/reintsalled and added the patch...and I still get this message.. Why cant I play this game?

If that doesn't help, please post your settings.txt and system.log files. Also run DXDIAG, Save All Info, and post as much of that as fits in one post here.

I dont have Vista...I have XP. I dont understand why this game doesnt work, Its really frustrating paying $50 for a game that I cant play. I need help to run this thing.

I've had the same problem, and have not found a solution. Fortunately, the launcher is not necessary to play the game. Find the Rome folder on your hard drive (Paradox Interactive/ Europa Universalis- Rome). Clicking on "RomeGame" will start the game itself. Making a shortcut on your desktop will make it more convenient.

Not having the launcher has been somewhat inconvenient, but at least the game can still be played.

Just to make things clear. The launcher crashes when it starts, it doesnt crash when you are in the launcher and click to run rome?

This is my problem as well, I have everything installed and when I click on the launcher, the launcher will not run. The game hasn't even loaded up to give me an error yet.

So it is the launcher and not the game itself on my machine
