The 1603/1605 errors we see there are typically a previous other installation stuck, or a problem in the Windows update/install processes.

If you see msiexec running in Task manager-processes, kill it and try this launcher install again please.

Otherwise run the Update app in Windows, does it load okay, find anything to apply - whether a patch, update, or whole new Windows 10 version? If so do that and reboot, then try this launcher install again please.

If still no good, do you see Paradox Launcher v2 in the Windows Control Panel to uninstall? If so does it uninstall cleanly, or get an error doing that? Then use this tool to remove that stuck install:

All the best!

Okay, I tried everything I could find on the forums, but none of the methods helped. I updated Windows to the latest version, updated drivers, deleted folders in Appdata, closed msiexec - nothing helped. Attempts to uninstall the game through the Windows Control Panel did not lead to anything, there is no launcher there. I tried to delete it through the utility that you attached to the message - she doesn't see it either. I tried using Revo Uninstaller - the same thing. Today I bought the game in Steam, because I previously had it in the Epic Games Store and I thought that was what was causing the problem, but no, it didn't help. Are there any other options left?

The launcher is identical regardless of what store you buy the game from. So please seek a refund for that second purchase, unless you want it for other reasons!

From that log the situation is the same - there is some stuck install preventing msiexec from installing our launcher. I'm surprised that MS tool did not help, it has an excellent record in that regard.

What if you make a new users in Windows, and log into Windows as that? Does it have the same problem?

@Deuterium Oxide I wonder, has there been any thought to using a different installation mechanism other than msiexec? That does make us dependent on these Windows issues, which I at least would see every week!

There are no words with which I could describe my gratitude, but thank you very much. Creating a new account really helped. Despite the fact that the error still appeared, after I pressed the "retry" button 4-5 times, everything was set. Thank you.
