update I have since looked into my application support folder, and now my launcher folder for paradox launcher V-2 is just gone idk how to get it back or how it's not there anymore if anyone can help me get things fixed it would be much appreciated

Please delete the ~/Library/Application Support/Paradox Interactive/ folder. To see it go to the Finder, hit command-shift-G (ie Go To) and paste in ~/Library/Application Support/ . Then run the game from the PLAY Button in Steam, to reinstall the launcher.

If that does not get the launcher running, we will need these files from that same folder:

Attach ALL .log files Found here ~/Library/Application Support/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/

tried deleting my paradox interactive folder this error shows up
here is the only folder left in the paradox interactive folder that I deleted is the logs

Are you using an unusual file system on this volume, niot the default Apple FS? And/or is there an antivirus app active here?

Otherwise I cannot account for that exec format error, of course our MacOS launcher is MacOS compatible!

I have Parallels which is a windows os for mac but I don't use it for the games that don't require windows (Victoria 3 and EU4 Obviously don't) so I don't use parallels for those games so its not on that file system its just in my regular file system

I think you are misunderstanding me; Apple volumes can be their standard APFS file system, or a number of alternatives that have encryption or other features.

On the volume this game and our launcher are installed on - T7 I think it is? - do command-i (Get info) - is it APFS or something else?

okay sorry for the delay but please respond Andrew T When I open my drive it doesn't even show the app in my steam library ill share a screen shot of the files and my computer is a Mac M2 but it uses a non APFS steam app but it still opens correctly

only for vic 3 but I get this error when loading EU4 directly from the library

I've never seen that error that you get from eu4.app . I can only guess it is a corrupted game installation.

For Victoria3.app you need to go into the Binaries folder we see there.

BUT you have not responded to my previous request!

Hi Andrew T sorry for the delay but as you saw in the downloads folder the victoria 3 app doest show up but in the Eu4 application your were correct to suspect that the file was not a APFS file

We're not looking to see if eu4.app is an APFS file, we're looking to see if the volume it is on is an AFPS one. The volume is T7 I think, from that file path.

As to eu4.app, just delete it then run a Steam verify against the game, that should replace it with a good one.

Okay Sorry its been a while, I have been really busy and not had time for paradox games, but I wanna get back into EU4 and Vicky 3 and I found out the exetended drive is not on a APFS system its on ExFAT, but I moved it back to the native system and this happened

What MacOS version are you on?

Do you have SIP disabled in it?

So exactly the same error as before, despite being on a different volume and file system. Very hard to see what could be wrong on this Mac to cause this to you!

Are EU4 and Vic3 now installed on an APFS disk? If so what happens when you run eu4.app and victoria3.app now? The same as post #9 above or something else?

EU4 has been on the APFS system and I have been having an issue where its saying that My Victoria 3 folder is on my native system when its on my T7 Drive
Sorry, EU4 is saying stuff about your Vic3 folder ... ?!? Can we see a screenshot of that error, in English please?

Never Mind My games are fixed somehow! Thank You for your co-operation I don't know what the issue was but now were good thanks for responding to a forum i sent 5 months ago I didnt think the devs would respond so thank you!!
