AFAIK eu4 doesn't allow resuming ironman saves through the launcher and just shows the last non-ironman game. As a workaround, you can edit continue_game.json with a text editor to point to your ironman save or you can make a non-ironman save with the exact same name as your ironman save(either before starting the ironman campaign or by temporarily moving the ironman save to a different place).

To add to my previous comment: As resuming an ironman save from the launcher isn't really supported, it is less tested and there might be more circumstances in which achievements might get disabled without a warning. In general I suggest to create regular copies of your ironman saves to have something to which you can go back in case of disabled achievements or a corrupted save.

thanks for the info. i had been wondering about that. I don't understand why they don't allow the Resumption of Ironman games. I find that strange.
When a major patch is released, most commonly it is not save-game compatible with campaigns started under the previous patch. If a user did not notice a game patch came out and just hit Resume, that save would load under an incompatible patch and so be irretrievably ruined.

That gives the user the opportunity to revert to the previous patch before loading that campaign up again.
