So I've decided to come back to EU4 after not playing for a couple of years, really started to miss the game. However when I tried starting it up a couple weeks back the launcher game me the error message "Launching the game failed". I can launch the game by manually opening it through the EU4.exe file, however as you all know playing EU4 with no DLC's is quite a bland experience. Below I will add a list of all the things that I've tried doing as well as some of my system specs.
System Specs:
OS: Windows 10
Computer manufacturer: Lenovo, this entails that lenovo software is installed on the computer if that might be the cause of the issue?
Solutions tried:
1.) Adding execeptions in my antivirus (Avast Premium) to all of the "important" game files required for launch, such as the launcher, EU4.exe, dowser etc.
2.) Running EU4.exe as an administrator, as well as letting it run i compatability mode with Windows 8 in the compatability meny
3) Uninstalling and reinstalling every single file on my computer that has anything to do with EU4 or the paradox launcher several times, including all mods for Eu4
4) Uninstalled my Antivirus and all related Avast software, as well as double checking that windows defender didn't block EU4 and that it was added to the exceptions list.
I really don't have any other good ideas as how to solve this problem and I would be very grateful for any help recieved, especially if you've had the same problem, or dealt with it in the past and how you managed to solve it.
