Leader can't lead troops and just hangs in his main holding. Any help?

So my character seems to be permanently stuck reining in his main holding and can't be assigned as commander to any of his armies. Kinda bummer as he has dragon and all...

As far as I can tell it seemed to start when my char was leading lieges armies in rebellion or conquest war (didn't really pay that much attention to it) and faction I was in triggered. My char then instantly went back into his holding and has been moping there ever since.

Even after the rebellion was lost (as the only rebeller with dragon decided to sit in his castle moping) I can't assign him to any armies and my liege seems to be unable to deploy him to his armies as hes constantly in wars being king on the iron throne.

So anyone know how to unstuck my guy out of his holding or is my game fubar now?

Is he a councilor?

No he was not. I tried to unlock the guy by becoming councilor of king and then resigning with no result. He ended up being locked until he died.

Could there have been some console command to unlock him? I really have not dabbled with them so I have no idea how I would have gone about it.


P.S. I know most would consider it good thing that ruler is not in combat but I do want to rp a bit here and there and I consider it mandatory to have ruler lead or be in the main army (if he sucks at command) during wars and be on the major battles too.

Are any of your own holdings under siege? Because he may be stuck "defending."

I've seen this same issue with some of the guys I played. I think one got stuck leading an army because his liege raised his levies, and then one of those CK things happened where the AI never returned its levies and they just stayed raised. I have also seen where my king will be leading then i start getting messages that he is no longer in command, and then a couple seconds later that he is in command again. It's just CK I guess, it will always be a bit buggy.
