Brand new to both the board and Europa Universalis but so far I've been really impressed with the level of user and developmental support.

I have some questions on adding leaders to files, I see this has been a huge topic of late, but I haven't seen answers to these questions:

Most of my leader files the leaders don't have any locations listed (e.g. leaders.ven). Then some leader files do have locations for at least some of their leaders (e.g. leaders.spa). Is this a problem with my files or are locations not necessary ? If a leader doesn't have a location designated, then where do they show up when their time is upon them ?

Which leader ids are free for us? 3000-3999? And is this just an arbitrary number, ie do I just make a leader, mark him as 3001 and that's it ? Or do I then need to go to another file and put in a reference to this leader 3001.

Thank you very much for looking at my post. If this has all been answered elsewhere, I apologize and would appreciate it if someone pointed me in the right direction.

Thanks again,
Malichai

- The location function is used to let the leader appear at a location far away. Without this line, the leaders will appear at large armies close to or in Your capitol. So e.g. the Spanish conquistador Galvez shall appear in Havana? Well location=137 and he will show up there (if possible).
- The leader ids are confined from 0001 to 3000, so 3001 will not work.

Hartmann started a thread above 'leaders for minor nations'..take a look in there - Hartmann's last post indicates which slots are still open as of the latest IGC. You can use any of these ID's and they won't crash your game if you are using the latest IGC.
