Leader Help

I am new to the game and by and large love it but I am running into one problem with leaders I cannot figure out. In playing France (other countries as well) I do not seem to receive any new leaders as scheduled on the excel spreadsheet. As well, monarchs seem to change but the ones with combat ratings do not appear on the map always. I have downloaded 1.09 and installed it. I suspect I'm just missing something easy but I can't figure it out.

The ones on the excell thing aren't the ones u get, there in the leader files. However u should get them. Set arrival of new leaders as a pop up message. Monarchs with military abilities seldom are actual leaders though. France hs just about the most leaders in the game so u should get a fair few

Leader Problem

Thanks for the reply. I have let the game run until 1520 with no leaders showing up in France. I have had them appear with other countries. They will appear with several ships or several thousand men with each leader. All I can think of is to uninstall the game and then reinstall it and the patch.

Just curious, what is the info in the excel spreadsheets? Is it an old list from previous versions? Is there a way to find out what leaders are scheduled and when?

Normally the ones that appear with men or ships are the conquesterdors or explorers. The leaders normally just appear in your biggest army. I had the problem you are having for a while, you are only informed of new leaders by default in the scrolling bar at the bottom of the page, which makes them really easy to miss. Change your message settings so you get a pop up box to tell you. Right now i suggest you look round all your armies and fleets, looking out for the little orange arrow up by their name which tells you there are multiple leaders in that force.

Thanks On Leader Question

Have taken all your suggestions and had box come up with leader arrival. I do receive them. (sorry <G>) They start arriving a bit after 1520. One thing that threw me I think was still the excel list of leaders nad dates. Apparently not only were some of the leaders eliminated from the list, but also it looks like the dates of some of the more famous were changed quite a bit for the ones you still do get. In any case, thank you all again. This is really a great game and you folks are a wonderful support.

One last question again though. Is anything available that lists out the leaders with accurate dates of arrival?

The leaders.xxx (whatever country ur playing). The Excell file isn't very accurate and isn't used

BTW, a page in the ledger shows what leaders you actually have at a given time, in case you lose track.

Anybody know if there are ANY decent leaders for Norway (monarchs or otherwise in the IGC 2.4)?
Methinks my little country may be conquered veeeery easily without some military leaders...
