Leaders with the same name bug

I had two randomly generated science researchers in my civilization with the exact same same. Whenever I use one on a research ship to conduct a mission, he overrides the other conducting normal research back at my capital. The issue is not resolved by changing the names of the leaders.

Are you sure that's what's happening? Conducting missions (as listed on the Situation screen) pauses research in one of the research categories while the mission is ongoing. It'll tell you which category gets paused. It may be you just happen to have the same name leader in the same category that keeps getting used for missions (I'm guessing Society, as that's what most early-game missions dealing with aliens use).

Ooooh, maybe it was just a fluke that I happened to have two different people of the same name and it confused me. Yes, it was in society. Thank you for clearing things up!
