It was sad, that it died out beacuse of politics. It had a lot of potential. A new start date with 2020 would be great. There is a lot of very good alternate history material that could be used for a modern-almost future mod.

Actually, @novapaddy is not the original author. He was just trying to update the mod to v1.05.1, because the original author had not updated it from v1.03. Since I have no idea if he is still around or not, I will proceed with modding releasing the overhauled project on a later date.
ACTUALLY I am the original author of MDS for Darkest Hour. I ported the HOI2 version to Darkest Hour. Do you think that was easy?
I then spent years improving it. This then further expanded into the Putin mod which was banned because people including myself got too involved in the twisted realities and politics of modern day hegemonies.
But yeah, 90% of the ministers and military people's names and images came from the original HOI2 mod by Killerraabbit et al. I had permission to use it.
You have my permission to go knock yourself out modding this mod as you please.

I get that when my DH launcher has game sprites enabled but I use counters inside the game's options before starting a scenario.
Thank you ! In my case it helped to turn counters "on" at the start up screen!
