Lend-Lease and US

Playing thru Feb 1942 as USA. WW2 began at Danzig. GER is poised to invade USSR. JAP puppeted CHI. I am at war with JAP, I have not joined Allies.

I never received the Arsenal of Democracy, Undeclared War, Lend-Lease or any others while at peace as war raged in Europe. I saw the events in the event folders. Are they still broken as in earlier CORE versions. Also, no Oil Embargo against JAP events.

Any info would be great!

The Oil Embargo event will only fire whilst CHI exists, after Jan 1st 1940. If it is a Puppet, the event should still be able to fire, technically. Japan must also have asked for Indochina, have Belligerence over 40 (which may no longer be true if it annexed & released CHI) or be at War with HOL or ENG.

What happened in France ? If France is still around and fighting, then you won't get the Arsenal of Democracy event. If that doesn't happen , you wont get Lend-lease. You have to be at peace to get that & Undeclared war, as well.

Anything there looking obvious ?

JAP has low beligerence due to an early victory over China.
They received IndoChina in Vichy Event. They just declared war on USA, ENG, NET, PHI so that may have changed.

Seems kinda normal except JAP declared war a bit later than historical and they puppeted CHI in 1940 or so. European war is going according to history. Except still no Barbarossa. I assume it is imminent though.

Could my interventionism be too low. There didn't used to be a requirement. Seems CORE added one.

The Slider settings for the US are deliberately set so that you will have to spend some of the pre-war ones even to be able to get to join the Allies, essentially. It is one of the ways of "taming the beast", as it were.

Hi,

I don't know about the other stuff but the 0.31 Lend Lease event trigger is broken. Still refers to the Vanilla Arsenal of Democracy event that no longer exists in the trigger.

It's broken in .30 as well. I had the Arsenal event and have very high interventionism, still no fire. I think I fixed it myself in .25. Let me see if I can remember how.

Also, didn't there used to be a Middle East revolt event if Italy or Germany captured Alexandria? I see the Eqypt sequence, which is cool. I thought that Iraq and Syria rebelled as well.

There is part of the sequence still in the HOI2 event file. Britain re-puppets Iraq after the rebellion. But no initiator event.

Find your Hoi2 Doomsday directory and go to the subdirs \mod-CORE2\db\events\vanilla , backup cored_usa.txt and open the file.
The first event should be modified to

	trigger = {
                Event = 830007 #The Arsenal of Democracy

and your lend lease should fire.

That works nicely. A quick fix.

In a USSR game, I was upset I got no LL events when the Germans were steamrolling me.

This has been fixed in our latest internal version (was fixed soon after 0.31 came out, actually, as it was brought up then).
