I saw an instruction here on how to get less planets to spawn, but when I made the instructed changes it changed all habitability to 0, even for my ideal ecosystem.

I want about half as many planet as there currently are in the game that are colonizable. Does anyone know how to do that?

You'll want to edit (or setup as a mod) the file Stellaris/map/setup_scenarios/<whatever.txt>

<whatever.txt> being whatever scenario size you want to change.

Look for

Code:
num_empire_default = 29
fallen_empire_default = 5
advanced_empire_default = 8
colonizable_planet_odds = 1.0

Change colonizable_planet odds. 0.5 would be half as many colonizable planets. 2.0 would be twice as many colonizable planets.
