Or when the 3 humans in alliance rule was broken as well.
I wasn't a GM then. And I was complaining rather loudly to Byakhiam about this problem.
And what about my proposal (no human alliances and no NAP's)? Noone ever considered it?
No. If we ban NAPs, they will still exist but just become unofficial ones. And banning human alliances? It is good in warmongerish Empires of Steel but not here, because in spite of the name LKS is not really lets-kill-everyone game. However, I think that reducing a number of people in one alliance to two with an exception of countries smaller than thirty provinces is a good idea. On the other hand, as Zeit says, the number of provinces is not really good indicator as Portugal with it's fleet becomes an uber ally in later game.

Glad that we agree on this one :)

Yep, It's "Let's kill someone" and we already did it! :) Banning alliances wont destroy them. They still will be existing, just not using the game mechanics. I suppose this way everyone will use warnings and guarantees to get cb's and to maintain an alliance.

Two countries fighting Austria separately. Each of them has +40 warscore. One of them gets one province and the second 200d. Right :D No, banning alliances is undiscussable. Could anyone write one single word opinioning my idea about reducing the number of people per alliance? :) Oh, and I exploited the fact I am the writer of the first post and changed the third rule a bit. Three province rule will last till Napoleonic Era as it encourages wars (not much to lose).

As Zeitgeist pointed out, the problem with small Portugal and Brandenburg is that they are minor powers and no one would like to ally them. So that's why the province restriction seems to be a good idea.
