What is wrong with Munster? I really have no interest in any of the suggested countries. I suppose I'll withdraw my application.
Munster isn't bad. I love the Irish (especially the O'Briens. See my username) and I'm glad someone's expressed interest in playing in Ireland, but we have nobody in England, Scotland, or Wales...

Better to have a player in Munster than nobody in the British Isles at all.

I just think the GM was probably preferring that you play someone wealthier.

I don't mind you being Munster as long as you keep in mind that your long-time prospects are... limited, and won't complain about it later.

I don't mind you palying munster either. I did a few test games using Brittany. I basically have two options to expand: one to help the spanish and the other swollow up and consolidate power in British Isles (ie: Whales). Because I can't expand in France, until the kingdom fractures up. So don't be surprised to see me there, but I would enjoy more helping the Iberia player.

Yay ! Take all your forces to Spain, they need you there my dear neighbour.

You mean right in 1066 ? Not going to happen, I am not that suicidal.

Later, depending on the evolution of the situation, I keep all options open.

You'd better run stuff like that by your faraway cousins. We care about what happens in the motherland. ;)

I guess I dont have to play as Munster, but I'm really not a fan nor am I a strong enough player to be in the vicinity of Muslims.

If you can suggest something that isn't in Eastern Europe and also has the ability to colonize once we reach EU2, then by all means.

Edit: The O'Brien name is the reason I choose Munster over Leinster. I'm also Irish myself and enjoy playing them. Apart from uniting Ireland, I really dont expect to be able to conquer much else as I'm not a strong player to begin with. Still, I suppose I'm open to suggestions, as long as they're easy enough for a noob.

Leinster is by far the stronger of the two. You have Dublin. You've got an O'Brien wife, and with a few (four) assassinations you inherit Munster. ;)

I wouldnt consider four assassinations as a few, that sounds like an awful lot of money/lost prestige if you ask me. Haha.

Well, look at it this way...

Just kill one or two and you get a free claim on the Duchy of Munster.

Pretty sure on VH it'd be damn hard to do otherwise.

I just tried CK out with all the mods we'll be playing and on VH---- oh boy. I'm a little dissappointed I wasn't quick enough to grab one of the easier duchies like Apulia, or perhaps an Iberian, because right now I'm not feeling confident in my abilities to play many of these countries as I'm used to normal/weakling like the game started as. Haha.

He'd probably let you switch to Gwynedd if you wanted. They have a claim on Deheubarth and can become Wales pretty quickly. Just trying to help with ideas. :p

My computer is brand new (4gb ram, dual core 2.1 ghz), but I don't know how well I do as a host re: my connection. I haven't tried it.

I've got a bitchin' computer and excellent internet, but I'm not certain if I'm going to be staying up until 3 AM so I'd probably be a poor host.

So, who's the host?
