Vetseke of Osel was the greatest man of his time,for he forges an empire an empire that would rule the world,here we will learn more of this great man
The was happily enjoying his lunch when a messenger interrupted him
"My lord,my lord,the Samogitians are attacking our vassals!What should we do ?"
"We will destroy them of course"said the king with a large and sincere smile on his face
"But that would make the Lithuanians enter the war my lord!"
"And thats the plan! I want to crush them too,and now they gave me a good excuse,prepare the soldiers we will march again"the king then slowly took hissword and armor and left the castle to join his troops
We march to West Dvina!Let us free our Lettigallish brothers!For Lettigallia!
Troops immediately begun to move their morale higher than ever,but then a russian noble arrived
"Your highness King Vetseke,I am Vladimir of Torzhok,I am here representing the Duke of Belozoro,because he wishes to join your noble kigdom,and serve you"
"Good I accept his offer,tell him to keep an eye on the estonians for me"
"He will your highness,he will"
Small pox hit the king,a deadly disease that filth lithuanians have,but the king would not give up his dreams so easily
"I will ride to battle!,men follow me we will break the enemy ranks and make them pay for defying us!For Lettigallia!
The charge was irresistible,the organisation and the discipline of the Lettigallians destroyed the Lithuanian numerical advantage
The lithuanians attacked again several times but they could never lift the siege for fate favored the lettigallians
One night the king helped an old wanderer buying him some food,and the wanderer said
"I am Bogaris and I will help with your disease,you bought me food so it as way of thanking you"
He then made the king eat some strange herbs and soon the king was well,the wanderer was later known as Saint Bogaris the Healer
West Dvina fell to the Lettigallian troops,but Lettigallia was under attack,the Samogitians broke though the southern defenses and were attacking the north,the king turned his army to face their barbaric king
The Battle of Livonia
Livonian Marshes 2:00 am
One one side the huge samogitian horde numbering nearly 3000 soldiers,on the other the small and battered Lettigallian army numbering almost 600 men,the Samogitians were in high spirits,drinking and laughing of their "weak" enemies,the Lettigallians were hungry,wounded,and thirsty
Vetseke ordered his men to use long spears and torches,while the barbarians took their axes,the samogitians were inside a small village the inhabitants were all dead,the king's men were in a marsh surrounding the village
The village was made entirely of wood
The battle begun
"Now throw the torches,burn the village!
Ordered the king
The village burned and the large samogitian horde left the city and charged the lettigallian army
"Now plan 2,plan 2"
Cried the king while he rode to tell his men
The Lettigallian army retreated to holes in the swamp,and a deep fog mixed with smoke descended over the swamp,the confused samogitians panicked with the raging Lettigallians emerging from the mud,the lettigallians knew the marshes well and were trained to fight and survive in it,but the samogitians didn't stood a chance...none of them survived the battle(OOC lucky me,600 against 3000 isn't easy)
New Lettigallia
With the death of the Samogitian and Lithuanian Kings their heirs surrenderes,the county of Zhmud changed their allegiance,but something incredible happened...
A russian emissary aproached the king,he had the looks of a powerful merchant
"Your highness King Vetseke,my liege the Duke of Novgorod has heard of your might and wishes to serve you"
"Tell him he is welcome and that he will be richly rewarded for his service"
The overjoyed king went to his room to contemplate about the future of his great kingdom
