Im playing the US in a '36 GC with HSR 2.02 and HOI2 2.01 and am in the process of defeating Germany. Its mid-late '42 and I've pushed the Germans to the old border b/w Germany and USSR after molotov-ribben. pact. The southern portion of Austria (now national province of Germany) is left and I wonder if after I take those provinces will the Germans surrender? They are pushing deep in the USSR and I hope I dont have to wait for the Russian counter attack to wipe them out. How can you exist with no national provinces?

Plus, Vichy France is not at war or allied with Axis, WTF? How can I evict them and restore France?

A surrender event will fire when they lose sufficient IC and territory, if they're doing well in the USSR they'll keep fighting, but with only occupied IC to keep them going I think they might not last too long anyway. So, if anyone can clarify what exactly is needed to force a German surrender (I've never been in a similar situation)

IRL, the Allies invaded Vichy France without a declaration of war in Operation Torch, I beleive there is an event that should fire after Algeria/French Morroco falls integrating Metropolitan Vichy into Germany, but again I'm not sure on the exact criteria having never seen in- I'm not even sure it works properly! But, to evict them and restore France, you just have the declare war against them yourself, or if they don't have enough belligerance, load the game as them and ally them to Germany- I figure cheating isn't cheating so long as it makes historical sense

Oh yes, I´ve seen this, it happens to me too - some things you can do: Wait for the russians and/or support them and a solution could be if you got the necessary territory to found a new Germany.
