I have noticed that successful liberation revolts (eg: Greek liberation revolt against Rum, Persian liberation revolt against Abbasids) always switches main holdings from castles to cities despite the winner of the revolt is feudal.

This made the winners of the revolts weaker and easy targets of conquests. I noticed this problem since a few versions back so... Is this a bug on my side?

Possibly not, since revolts sometimes result in the winner becoming a republic or theocracy, and then needing to be switched back to feudal. I've not seen what you're talking about, but I'm curious as to what you mean -- do you mean the main holding in the capital? In every province in their realm? What?

I think this depends on what the first holding they occupy is.

Not quite. I tested it quite a bit, but the order of their usurpation doesn't affect what government they assume. Rather it's the type of holdings they own, and then a bit of chance.

If that also alters capital holdings, then I need more info. I've never seen that.

I hope this would help. http://imgur.com/a/TooGu

Other mods I use: Base Trade Routes, [VS] Plain Map

Edit: Yeah, most of the case its in every province in their realm.

Uhh, yeah just as what you said.

So you mean this is working as intended? Is there a way to make liberation revolts feudal or at least following their previous government type without having the player to console command as the Liberator and switch all the holdings into castles?

No, it's not intended that capital holdings change. This is, in fact, the first I've heard of it.

If you have a save before that revolt succeeds, that would be an ideal testing case -- as I'd need to look at the results of the liberation CB and see if there's a way to prevent this rather than fix it after the fact. Failing that, I'd need to see if this can be reproduced. Like I said, I've never heard of this result before, and I've seen liberation revolts succeed many times, so reproducing it without a save might not be a simple matter.

Well, I have a save which is of the latest version of both the mod and ck2 vanila. Checksum MMRS

This is the save I used to capture screenshots I shared in the link above. Unfortunately the revolt in England is over by a day but fortunately the Greek revolt is still underway. I dont know where to upload my save file so... Hope this will do. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7Zf6plXZI1IYlV1SDNLQnV2YTA

EDIT: Well, the checksum is for ck2 vanila and ck2+ mod. I use Base Trade Routes and [VS] Flat Map for that save.

Yeah...I only ask for the checksum based on what you've actually been playing. It is pointless to shut off your other mods in order to get the correct checksum, and then give me that save as that's what you've been playing all along...as it clearly hasn't.

I will, however, take a look.

I will say that I saw the same thing happen in a game on the last steam version where a Zorastrian liberation revolt ended up creating the kingdom of Persia and then made the entire thing a theocracy, though I distinctly remember them starting off as feudal, so I'm not sure if it happens immediately after being successful or some time after.

I think I may have a save of the game still, but I switched over and put the feudal characters back in power province by province already, so I'm not sure if it would be helpful to you.

I've seen a Zoroastrian theocracy take over Central Asia (and this guy was a Samanid, too). Sadly, I didn't see how it started.
