FYI:
In this game rate of fire number of the infantry weapons adds up if there's multiple weapons.
It doesn't add up on tanks visually on a card description, so you have to count it yourself when calculating your tank efficiency.

Browning .30 Cal in this game fires faster than MG42.
Vickers K fires faster than MG42 too.

I've read some stuff before playing this game to know that it is false. Even if your rate of fire includes changing overheated barrels, MG34 and MG42 both fire faster than any other LMG and MG in this era. It is as obvious as it gets, literally watch any youtube video that shows these MGs at the shooting range.

the RPM listed in game is effectively a lie in terms of DPS and suppression.

It's actually an indicator for supply usage but that's a unrelated topic.

If you're interested in knowing how the gun actually performance in terms of dps, click on the first link in my sig.

Long story short. The mg34/42 are the best lmg in the game. the m1919a6 is second best with less suppression.

I have the data right in front of me that MG42 has 50% more suppression damage than .30 Cal but a lower clip size and I know that the MG42 is better.

This thread is obviously about card visuals, like what are these random numbers and why MG34/42 is lacking rate of fire on the paper?

the "rpm" on the card is the gun's practical rate of fire in game, meaning it take into account the effect of reload and cooldown.

but keep in mind that the displayed rpm doesn't affect dps. It's more of a supply usage guide line. (supply per minute)

the numbers are just arbitrarry nonsens tbh.. And no this is not the "practical rate of fire in game, meaning it take into account the effect of reload and cooldown." its the avarage ammo consumption of this gun, taken from a 10 minute engagment time in the Spansih civil war..

The problem is that Eugen used differend sorts of stats for the guns. Most allied wapeons are displayed with ther practical RPM and somtimes even the maximum possible RpM while the german guns are displayed with this '10 minut average combat RPM' witch is fine if ur a officer trying to figure out how long ur ammo will alst, but menaingless if u wanne know anything about the guns capabiletys.

LMG in particular often have 3 stats for ther RoF. ( i put the numbers for the Mg34 behind it to show the massiv diferences)
- a technical maximum, just taking the actuall loading and fiering mecanic into account. (900-1000 RPM) This is what cames out when pull the trigger
- a practical maximum, adding reloades and barrel changes. (400 RPM) This is what u get when u wanne operate the gun savly for as long as ammo is in reach.
- a Combat avarage, mostly taken from actuall combat with all the repositioning, waiting, hiding, spotting and stuff u do. (180 RpM, stand spanish civil war) This is what u multiply with ur expectet engagment time not to run dry

As said, german RoF stats ingame ar mostly from the last category, witch is a bit sad sins this isend usfull at all unless u wanne knwo how mutch ammo ur unit needs. As example in the spanish civil war the german Combat avarage came to a conlusion of 180RpM for the Mg34, therfore the standart german inf group was equipped with 1800rounds in LMG belts per LMG on the outbrake of the war, this number stadly increased over the war, especially when combat in the east started.

To use the combat average as the guns RpM is complet nonsens.. Sins it would mean the gun fiers nonstop for the entierty of the match. Or would fier nonstop for the time of the RL combat situation witch is borderline retarded to assume it will..

Here are 2 sorces for the differend numbers:

I counted, and a lmg34 does use ~187 "bullets" in the game. It doesn't directly affect dps, but it does tell you that a grenadier can fight for about 3 minutes before running out.
