Calling all armchair generals. Interested in MP HoI2 in a fun, relaxed gaming enviroment? Search no further. We welcome all players, new or old. Game is brand new, starting this friday, 05/27/2005 at 7pm EST.

38 Grand Campaign

Current players:

Brasidas - Germany
LightningWar - USA
Pedal2000 - USSR
Sgt KAT - UK
Jason - France
billy bob - Romania


We could always use 2-3 more players. Italy is needed as is anyone willing to play a minor or sub for majors. Any country is welcome.

Game Rules:

Diplomacy is encouraged, form alliances, game is fairly unhistorical.
If you are looking for a interesting game, this is it.

No abusive language toward other players, this includes "Omgz0r HAHAHA i Just k33led a whole stack of your men, you SUCK ASS!"

If you play a nation, such as France, and all your armies are destroyed, you must accept defeat. Playing with 1 province in the middle of nowhere just to antagonize the German player is not allowed. In this case, you will sucede all provinces to Vichy event, and we will reload the game, thus allowing you to choose another country to play.

If you are going to be late or unable to attend for any reason, that is fine, just please take the 30 seconds out of your time to send a quick email to Pedal2000 or myself.

So France can say "No" to Vichy, we can fight to the death on the continent, and then we'll fire the event manually?

I'd like to request some trade rules. Since there's so little time to build up stockpiles in '38, I'd suggest that all trading on the second day be restricted to the Axis. I'd further suggest that any "100%" trades must be accepted by allied players. The deals really aren't going to be great for cross-ideology trades, so the rates should be decent for the allies.

I don't expect the allies will deliberately try to crash the Axis economies by buying up everything, but with the US short on rares in 1.2, I'd prefer that they not just gobble up everything so they can have a stockpile.

Hey, it's not a joke. It's something that really does get used in games.

Here's a reference off of HerrGeneral's board:

2) Resource Trading:

* The Axis will trade on January 2, 1936
* The Allies and USSR may not trade until the game has been started after Axis trading
* The Allies and USSR may not trade for rares unless their IC gives them a deficit of rares
* Players may only initiate trades with AI nations in which the player receives supplies in return for rares
* Players may accept any trade offered by an AI natio

I'll play on regardless, but a lack of time to build up resources is one reason I prefer '36 to '38. I really would like at least day 2 and the chance to get some kind of surplus off the world market.
 
Game's tommorrow guys. Let's get the rules sorted out.

Can the axis have the first shot at trades with NPC countries? Yes or no? I'm not going to whine about it if I don't get it.

And can we get a roll call of who's playing? Me, Pedal, LW, Kat, LKtonic, Smalls,...

My stance on the issue is, you must use your "political and diplomatic skills" to convince the USSR/UK/USA or anyone else for that matter to trade with you first and not each other. As far as AI goes, you can accept anything.

I think Pedal would be more than willing to trade rares to you first since I did the same for him last game when he was Japan :)

As far as who is playing, for sure, all i know right now is Pedal, Bras, and myself. I would contact Pedal to ask if he has received any emails because I have not.
 
Mmmmm I'm pondering doing an Isolationist USSR this time. We'll see. I gotta ponder this over, either way,
Game is up in 20 min's, I'll host, although I dunno how long I'll be around for. (IE: I may let the SU run itself with minimal watching, we'll see) Due to a mother's B-day :eek:
If tht is the case, I will be looking for NAP's from the player's around me please and thank you. :D

Edit: As for the trade thing, well I don't mind that, but In return I'd want a delay on the axis formation. ;)

2nd Edit: Valk net appears to be down, I'll try hosting by IP but I dunno how well that works for me, Bras you might have to host for tonight
