When will the Steam launcher be fixed?
I still have to launch from the commandline to get the game to start

1) cd .local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/ImperatorRome/
2) ~/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam-runtime/run.sh ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/ImperatorRome/launcher/Paradox\ Launcher -steam

I had hoped to see this fixed by now.

I use Steam on ArchLinux. Arch is not supporter by steam, I know.
I have read this problem with people on Ubuntu.
Besides, EU4, HOI4, CK2, Stellaris all start and run fine under Linux. Only I:R doesn't.

Nothing will be fixed in July on any Paradox-written game, I'm afraid. Virtually the whole company are on leave due to the yearly Swedish summer break.

If it could be fixed for September, it would be great (as the bug exists since the launch of the game, we can still wait one or two monthes more)

I agree.
It made me giggle reading a EU4 dev diary where devs hail Linux as a platform, being much faster for eu4 than any other.
New game, launcher doesn't work..
Very strange.

Not that I have heard, sorry, but I'm not in the dev loop at all.

Probably best to update one of the Bug Report threads on the issue.
