I've discovered some useful little shortcuts which is not provided in the manual, which ought to be at least listed on a seperate sheet bundled with the game, and wondering was others people have come up with.
Anyway, here's a couple that I've found:
1. Right clicking on a province (enemy as well as your own) will give you a menu of actions for that province or country.
2. It is possilbe to select one or more units by 'lasooing', like in Windows or C&C type games.
3. Right clicking on a evemy popup will give you a menu on how you'd like this to be presented in future.
BTW I love the way the manual gives you a historical overview of the period and for each major country (perhaps someone can fill in the gaps for all the other countries too). I kaven't seen anything like that since the manual for the original Civilisation.
