Every single axis member nation except Germany (thank god), sends its entire airforce up to Lithuania. You get huge stacks of Brazilian naval bombers hanging out with spanish fighters and Italian torpeado planes. This is a horrible bug that has been here from day one and is not fixed. Please do something.

But, I did get as far as trying to install the C.O.R.E. stuff - tried and failed. The pesky thing starts up but nothing happens.

My best guess is you got impatient. Following the splashscreen there is a 15-30 sec loadtime because of the many events and stuff added in C.O.R.E. before the game starts.

If I were you I'd try again and see what you missed in the first attempt :eek:

I'd installed it to the default directory and the new CORE icon that appeared on the desktop confused me.

Pretty good fun, the German AI was much better at kicking the free-frenchies out of france so the bugbear lockup associated with vichy hasn't had an opportunity to materialise (does it occur in CORE?).

The Axis are pounding on my borders (USSR) in August 1942 and, despite a couple of crashes to desktop and some strange aircraft behaviour (e.g. 10 Jap naval bombers parked in Western Russia) it is giving me a good game.

Finding it hard to watch everything I need to watch in a real time environment but a jolly good mod!

Best wishes

Ian

P.S. If the CORE chaps would like someone to reword the english for them then I am up for it, well.. I'll probably start doing that anyway. The strangest message is the one where the country attacking and the province being attacked are reversed in the log - but that probably isn't adjustable?

This bug is kind of annoying - could anyone help me out with a workaround, by editing the save game file?

I see 4 Jap naval bomber groups in Memel (prov id 711). In the save game file, I see the following on those airunits:

location = 711
prevprov = 714
home = 711
task = 0
taskprov = 711

Is it safe to simply change location, home and taskprov from 711 to 1682 (Hiroshima)? If I do so, will the AI start to pick up and use those bombers?

Well, that didn't work, they flew right back! :(

Is there perhaps a different task code that will work?

Yes set the taskprov to hiroshima (1682)

I did that the first time.

I changed:
location = 711
prevprov = 714
home = 711
task = 0
taskprov = 711

to:
location = 1682
prevprov = 714
home = 1682
task = 0
taskprov = 1682

I was hoping that changing the "task" variable might mean something to the AI.

Don't claim Memel - don't admit Lithuania to the Axis

Just curious. Are there known to be any difference in this when using different game settings and/or scenarios? And when does it start in a game session? Yeah, I read that it continues to the end, but when does it start? As soon as they becomes ally to Germany?

Sure, I saw a few Italian air units up there around the Lithuania/Baltic states, but as far as I remembers it from 1.05c, there were many Italian air units elsewhere. I can't remember any details, but again I haven't thought on this part of the problem as the worst game bug.

The first post in this thread indicates that this Lithuania sympthom was allready common knowledge. Shame on me, could someone point out the threads with all the information please? I would like to read more, but failed to find anything.

The Soviets for some reason seem to declare war on you earlier if you do anyway.
