Comets should be a hidden spacefaring race that trolls non-spacefaring species by flying around their worlds. It should be possible to wage war on comets.

Better, being able to use comets to convince lesser species that it is a harbinger of the end times.

I think an ability to hack computers/crucial brains of aliens in the atomic era and making them atomically wipe out themselves would be amazing. 99% of species die, biosphere goes to hell, rest have horrible trauma 'we turned to be retards who can only destroy - we are worthless', and ages of postapocalyptic nightmare, haha!

Most of it applies also to straight nuking them on your own but in this case they at least have their furious will of revenge and some common foe to unite against - alternate option gives them nothing but void and despair.

I really hope Stellaris will allow on some planetary tortures. Flourishing peaceful race? Send biomechanical monsters on the surface. Oceanic race? Boil them or freeze 'em. Happy race? Use space engineering to limit sunrays so they start starving and suffering. Construct and launch false prophets who spread cannibalistic torture suicide cults in superstitious societies. Manipulate world leaders using mind control to make a simulation of 1984.

Nukes. Asteroids. Lasers. Zombie viruses releases on their worlds. Vivisections. Nanomachines.

I usually play peaceful, calm factions but in Stellaris if I'll be evil, I will make Stalin cry.

don't know if this has been mentioned before, but being able to escape combat would be nice....some games just have fleets meet and one side gets completely destroyed.....if ships get overwhelmed they should be able to have a chance to flee.

Considering that in naval battles in Pdx games the ships are capable of fleeing, I would imagine the same is true for Stellaris even if it is in space and not in water, given that your spaceships are faster though. Slower ships shouldn't have a chance to escape.. except they maybe start up FTL in time..

That is my thought as well. If the battle is going poorly you can get your larger ships to flee with other ships covering the retreat.
