OK, so I started a new campaign this morning (UTC +10) after downloading the beta update. I selected 8 parts needed for 'mech salvage.
I just loaded up that campaign and did another mission ("hard" setting - but I blitzed it - yay me lol), but noticed I now only need 7 parts...
Was that something that was changed with the update proper or is that a bug of some kind?

Might be an unknown issue, dunno for certain since I don't work for HBS nor Paradox.

Loving the patch overall - really enjoying Ironman mode :D

A couple of quick questions - as this wasn't covered in the patching notes - it appears that the Actuator values on the actuators that were updates all swapped their "InventorySize" and "Tonnage"values. So, was the old way incorrect and the new way is now correct? Or vice versa?

Hi,
started a new campaign, first mission has 6 enemy mechs, it was needed to blow away their complete armor and nearly complete structure. Was this only missing luck, that no enemy was going down before loosing complete HP, or is there a new damage modelling? Cant find anything to this point in the notes.

I have 12GB of ram... not as much as I'd like, but good enough for every other game I've played.

But even if you have 6GB of ram, you won't have nearly that available for running games.

I have 12GB, and even if I close EVERYTHING else, this game *WILL* creep up to 10GB and make my system start paging to disk, which even on SSD is damned slow in comparison. Even if I had 64GB of ram, I have zero doubt that this game would max that out as well. That is what memory leaks are, they have no limit.

But none of that matters, 4GB of RAM for this game is WAY more than it should need. It starts up with <2gb in use, and then the memory leak creeps it up much higher.

Games like War Thunder have far better graphics, far more players, far more vehicles, far bigger maps, far better terrain, etc, etc.... and they use less than 2GB.

Soooo..... its a bug, that was not addressed, therefore I won't be playing the game again until it is.

I have only 8GB of RAM, and I've never noticed going higher than ~80% (just saying to prove that the game doesn't even require 8 GB). If I were you I would try to validate files (or similar option, in steam, GoG no idea), because it seems that something is not right and is causing this problem, which, for what other users also said, it's not common. Good luck fixing it! ;)

The patch notes explain that stability has been changed - basically it';s harder to knock things down now. The patch notes are well worth reading BTW. :)

Yep, the times of easy LRM-boat knockdown everybody are gone.
Now, because of that, if you try you probably damage a lot the desired target before knocking it.
Better try go for legs or be lucky with head shot.
Is not impossible, mind you, just take more (many more) shots / need plenty of ++/+++ StabDamage weapons.

True, but i have no problem with stability, i mean the destruction of a mech. In Mission 1 LRM´s are not really a factor of interest. My point was, that i needed to destroy all armor+structure points of those mechs before central-torso was exploding. This can happen sometimes (i played 130hours, so i know), but 6 time in a row? Seems to be RNG-extremly unlucky or something changes. Example: One enemy mech has 30hp structure left at central torso, i made an alpha strike with 6 weapons of black-jack, standing in front of him. All weopons hit, but not the CT only other hit-zones. And this was going on and on.

Hahaha, okay, no answer necessary anymore. I have played next mission in a way of testing (part of mission is to kill the shadow hawk), so i engage enemey mech only from right side and before he was going down, i destroyed all parts of the mech, including LEFT side of torso....lol.....better: he was not going down by exploding CT, at least his pilot was dead....who wonders......every little screw on his mech was exploding before, only the imortant parts were brandnew.
Unfortunately i will not play the game anymore, was my most liked game before, but NOW: it is not longer a game with hit zones, now its a game with hp-pool. Thats not my thing.
Bad way of balancing.

I had a similar issue, but it was only noticeable/causing problems on one specific mission in the beta patch. It was the recover Argo mission. I made a bug report for it but haven’t seen any other posts about this.

That sounds like you had some bad luck on the hit locations. Destroying the center torso is all that is required to take out a mech and it is possible without removing the side torsos.

If you were attacking from the right side it should be impossible to hit the left side. There are four distinct sides which determine hit locations. If the game showed that you were in the right arc and it still hit the left side, that is a bug. Take a screenshot, try to reproduce it, and report it.

When the game is Russian language?
They are working on additional languages, including Russian. We do not know when it will be released yet.

My Steam does not put a patch on the game.
What should I do that install it?
Go to where Steam has installed the game and delete one of the files, then go back to Steam and tell it to Verify the installation. That should force it to download the updated files.

Good improvements. I hope that in the next update a quality of life for the mech bays will include the ability to order them in their bays as we see fit and the ability to save and quickly load a mech configuration instead of laboriously changing everything one thing at a time.

Favorite trend of 1.1 so far? The new random events just absolutely crapping on Dekker. I'm not being sarcastic. It's genuinely hilarious to me.
  1. Month 2: The Mechwarriors were playing bowling in an abandoned corridor of the Argo - Dekker breaks his idiot nose and is out for a month
  2. Month 4: The techs find mold that requires hazmat suits to clear; Dekker gets randomly assigned to the one to clean it and mopes with low spirits for several weeks.
Two more events and I think I'm going to have a semi-faithful recreation of the Something Awful log of Dekkers many injuries. :D

Hey, my first post, yay me. I'm an old Battletech fan, like many here, I'm sure (1985, I was 12, saw an add in a Dragon mag with a Locust looking way too baddass, got the box set for Christmas. Never liked the Clans.), so I did get this game at launch since a lot of early looks seemed positive. Mostly pretty happy with it, as it does feel like Battletech to me, more or less. It's in a "look what we can do when we have computers to handle all the micromanagment and math!" kind of way.

Why am I finally posting now? Well, it's still patching. Is it slow to patch on Steam too (I got it on Gog)?

Anyways, a lot of great stuff in this patch. Here's my little wishlist for consideration for future patches:
AC/2 and AC/5 damage. Lowering the heat on the LL and PPC was a great step (and the slight bump to ML heat is nice too), but I still think the AC/5 in particular is too damn efficient damage wise. Maybe make the AC/2 do 20 damage and have no recoil, and lower the AC/5 to 35 damage?

Have worlds with 'Former Star-League Presence' also have a moderate odds of selling lostech, for a premium, of course. Black Market worlds should be a good place to find all sort crazy stuff, for a high cost, of course. This could include some rarer mechs/parts sometimes, like Cataphracts, and might be a neat way to introduce rare variants like the Grand Dragon.

I like the cored mech destruction idea, but what I'd really like to see is for those mech parts to be useful in repair, possibly essential for repairing head or center-torso destruction, and maybe other catastropic damage like the entirety of a side of a mech. Might not be so quick to sell them off then, right?

Please put a threshold on the amount of a damage it takes for a headshot to constitute damage to the mechwarrior. Just a small one, because it's really annoying when it's a MG or a single LRM. Do it per-weapon, so that if RNGesus is a real jerk and 3 LRMs out of the same volley hit the head it's still damage to the mechawarrior, maybe.

As someone above said, please let us pick a voice for our commander?

When in melee range, we can't maneuver around the enemy mech, but they can maneuver around us. This kind of inconsistency is really irritating, please pick one or the other to implement across the board.

That's all for now.

(yup, patched, heh)

Completely agree about the events now. So. Much. Better!
But I haven't noticed any animus towards Dekker. Instead, my most interesting events were:
New produce was picked up on a planet by Behemoth, and I got to choose whether she would be allowed to serve it in the mess hall. I said yes.
Another pilot immediately went into anaphylaxis, and had to be injected with an epi-pen. Behemoth acquired the "jinxed" tag.

Later, another event triggered where the crew were meeting in private to complain about "jinxed" Behemoth. I was given several options, but I chose to fire her.

Events now have much more serious consequences! Excellent!

Ugh. I'll have to find a way to turn this stuff off.
