When you reassemble a mech from 3 pieces of salvage iit appears to come fully equipped with stock loadout for free. Is this intended ? Or a Bug?

About Faction Rep, another question :
Do you have a loss of rep with a faction A if you do a mission for a faction B and A is in war with B ?
 
Will special ++ items and weapons we collect in the single player campaign, be available to us in multiplayer skirmishes?
 
I saw in the forums that Death from Above is rolling on the regular hit chance and not on the 'Above' table (IE more chance to Hit Head, no chance to Hit Legs)
is this intended? Bug?
what about Kicks from higher up? or punches from below ? is everything using the standard Hit chance?
 
Is there a chance that MechWarrior customization (re-naming / re-"facing") will be added post-launch? Or is the feature of the table for good?
 
In regards to the randomly generated missions:

  • How many are there ?
By which i mean, how many different frameworks for a misison are there ?

Obviosly some parts will be procedual, but the overall layout of a mission is sure to become reptative at some point.

  • How long would you estimate a person would have to play the random missions before missions start to become obviosly repeated ?

Regarding graphics:

Due to stream compression it can be hard to get a proper look at game textures, but from what iv seen it would seem that for the type of game it is, it uses the standard expected resolutions for environment details.
  • Is there any chance for an option to use even higher resolution textures for those with large VRAM capacities ?
In respect to the ingame effects....
  • Any possiblity of more advanced physics effects being added ? Such as Zero G effects on debre,smoke, and particles ?
  • When a weapon misses its target, visualy it can miss by miles, surely this is a bug, will this be fixed ?
  • For the most part mechs travel well along terrain, though clipping is a rather common thing it is not all that jaring, however weapon fire shooting through terrain really lowers the feel of 'polish' the game has. Will this be fixed ?
Regarding sound:
  • Will you be doing any final passes on audio due to feedback , such as beafing up AC 10/20 sound effects ?
  • How about muffling sound effects in vacume environments , similar to how the Battlestar Galactica Tv series done it ?
Regarding gameplay:
  • I have noticed there has been no signs of drop limits (weight), Are there going to be incentives to use lighter lances for missions vs sporting the heaviest mechs availble to a player at any given time ?
  • During development, did you ever consider adding in a Research and Building system so that players could could upgrade existing weapons to higher rareity with modifers such as upgrading M Laser to a M Laser + (acc), instead of limiting such items to salvage and store purchase ?

General Questions:
  • During development, were there any features or systems that you would have liked to impliment, but couldnt ? and what were the reason you couldnt ?

Does your reputation degrade over time? Saw a post somewhere that from the streams faction reputation might have been decreasing about 1 per month, which would make it hard to keep high rep with multiple factions.
 
First I wanna say that the portraits of the kickstarter mechwarriors look really awesome, great job!


Here are my questions:

- Do the kickstarter mechwarriors have fixed stats when they appear in the hiring hall or are they random?

- Will it be (easily) possible to mod in new mechwarriors with portraits by the community?

- Will there probably be a DLC after release for additional mechwarrior voices and hairstyles?

Have you made any changes to pilot skills in recent development? In particular there has been a lot of recent discussion wondering how useful Juggernaut will be in practice compared to other options due to its fairly limited scope (requires melee attack, lack of synergy between moving in for a melee hit and Bulwark, relatively weak benefit)

Also are you still working on weapon balance as a lot of people have been surprised to see increased heat on LLs and PPCs compared to the skirmish beta 2 figures.
 
Hi, thanks for doing the Q & A and the various streams up to launch - it helps ease the pain a little ;) (a time machine would ease it a lot though!)

My question is regarding the morale called shot ability (precision shot or something?) - how do the hit percentage values work, are those the values used to determine location if the shot hits (ie the normal hit chance is used to determine a hit, then the location is determined with the listed values) or is that the actual hit percentage of the shot (as it seems low but that may be intended with the starting pilot skills we've seen in the streams)?

Can the tutorial missions be skipped (I don't want to be forced to play them every game)?

Will it be possible for modders to add their own story line/missions?

A keener AI would be good, any news on improving the AI compared to what has been seen on the prerelease streams?
 
- are the current background options all of them?
- I noticed the betrayal background had an event attached to it, is it safe to assume all of the backgrounds have at least one event?
- what does merc rep effect and is it reasonable to forgo salvage and/or cash to boost it?
- do you have a favorite procedurally generated mechwarrior or series of events that made for an interesting story?
- how luxurious is the luxurious living standard? Are we talkin art galleries, live orchestras, filet mignon and blackjack and hookers or like "Oooh our bunk beds have decent mattresses!"?
- are the burgers ever a good idea?
- did ECM make it in?
 
I know your not officially supporting modding on steam, but with the JSON files could you give a quick and dirty rundown on what kinds of things we will be able to change on our own with them ?

We answered this on the Mech Bay stream, and no ++ weapons will not be available in multiplayer skirmishes.
 
I'd love to know more about the state of the AI:

How does the release build AI compare to the pre-release version we see on Streams? A large portion of your customers that are active on this board find the AI to be abysmally stupid.

Along those lines, is there any improvement/fleshing out of the Tutorial system?

These concerns are tied together through what we've seen on streams. Many, MANY mistakes made by streamers that could have been rectified by better tutorials leads into them only being successful because the AI is so terrible at capitalising on player failures.
 
Another question:

Can we turn off the camera zoom/focus stuff? I don't want my camera out of my control AT ALL, let alone zooming in a way that shows a close-up of a mountain that is blocking what action is happening. From the streams we've seen, that camera zoom stuff is super annoying.
