Hi guys, I'm a wee bit new to the game, so please excuse some of the newbishness.

I have played a few games as the Loa, and I've noticed that they seem to take a straight-line path between systems, whether there are gates there or not.

If three systems are in a triangle, connected in a series, A-B-C, the fleet will fly sublight between A and C, rather than using the gates from A to B and from B to C.

Bug or intended?

The other races with similar drives, like the zuul, seem much better at pathfinding. As the loa I've had fleets complete 3 turns of construction, then spend 30 turns slow boating it back to base.

Thanks :D

Yeah, don't forget that Loa don't go sublight until they're a pretty long way past the last gate.

But that said, Loa not intelligently pathing through their gate network is clearly known to the Devs over on the Kerberos forum. It sounds like it's not so much a bug as a known unimplemented feature.:eek:o

A to C is usually the shorter path distance-wise, but turn wise it's usually 3-4x longer. The workaround with rebasing fleets works well for the beginning of the game, but when you start having dozens of fleets and systems, it gets a little much to remember which systems have direct links to which others.

This saddens me because the Loa are incredibly fun to play, and not having a way to force them to use the gate network really hurts the mid and late game.

I'm glad it's not just me and here's hoping for a fix :D
