this is in reference to the Doomsday expansion, i do not yet have ARMAG.
I have had huge problems with installing this game after i got Vista, as others have, and initially I could not get it to work and tried to uninstall it and then could never get it to load again.
The other day I reloaded Vista and was able to load it using a separate folder on my desktop (I am not that good with computers so it took me a while to figure it out). I got the game loaded properly and had it funcioning, I then tried the patches and had it working find up to 1.3, I then foolishly installed 1.3a and got that message about the ships file not being found.
I then read on another spot on this forum where that was the incorrect 1.3a and that a total uninstall is needed. I cannot figure out how to do this (and am afraid to do it wrong since i could not correct my initial uninstall without reinstalling windows), the only advice I find is "look at sticky post" and when i look around all I find is one that tells me to go into <start><registry editor><software><and then paradox> which it does not seem to have (the paradox part).
can I uninstall using uninstall manager? what is the best course of action? could you please show a link on where i can follow your instructions i have read through many of the help messages but cant find the solution that may help me. I really love the game but like many others i am frustrated trying to load it.
If i am able to load it again do i need to load each patch in succession or can i skip to 1.3
Also is there a 1.3a for doomsday that will not cause a crash? I thought I saw a link for one.
