Anyone else experiencing an unusually high ammount of lockups and ctd's with 1.06? I just had to reboot again after yet another lockup. These things always seem to occur at exactly midnight gametime.

The billion dollar question: was that a clean (re-)install? I guess it shouldn't matter, but maybe it does and then it is interesting to learn details from others...Ziff said:

Clean install from the disk, 1.06 installed over that, 1936 scenario. As I said, it always occurs exactly at midnight; so maybe while the program is calculating things it hiccups?
1 GHz Pentium III, 256MB SDRAM at 133MHz, SB Live!, GeForce2, 40 GB hard drive. I don't know what other info you might need; does this cover it or do you need something else?
I have not crashed with 1.04, 1.05 or 1.06.

I'm having a serious lockup problem. I'm Hungary, 1.06, '36 scenario, June 1942. The game freezes immediately when I open my save game. I can't even click on the scenario info box because the game is already locked up. I've shut down every other program with alt-ctrl-del, disabled the music etc. but nothing seems to help.
In case there's anything anyone can do, here's the savefile (about 770 kb).
edit: Oh, and the 1.06 patch is installed over a clean 1.00 HoI.

i have no lockups.
okay to be serious i had 2 CTD´s in about 30 hrs. playing time.
i can not say why, but i think it´s acceptable ( because much
better than in earlier versions ). but when i say acceptable i
just left alone the fact, that zero crashs would be the best.
also i have ZERO crahs in other games like SPWAW, MOHAA
or FAR CRY demo.
in my case also clean install , no mods etc...
but as i said it´s an improvement to all older versions of the game.

No crashes here either.
Perhaps the problem stems from the fact that on some systems it´s virtually impossible to really deinstall EVERYTHING....hence the people with this problem never really get a clean install (unless they enter the register files and delete all remnant HOI files from there),.
