We'll already have distance calculations for trade advantage (and maybe merchant marine consumption) with the new trade centres
Well certainly with the market areas system being brought to the forefront of player attention there should be some effect of transporting goods from states in one market area to states in another market area (not just convoys if separated by sea). How railways and waterways should interface with this is another question, and of course we still have to concern ourselves with markets that are composed of only one area e.g. Zollverein

One thing I didn't get is how exactly you expect it to work. I have written a couple suggestions, and I try to make sure my idea is set across with as much a concrete approximation to the idea as possible, even if the concept is not tied completely.

It's not that I don't agree with the term – though I wonder how much more of a computational cost it would carry (I have professors doing these sorts of projects for stuff like storaging, because it's neither a solved deal nor is it computationally cheap). However, beyond flagging the word, I don't exactly see how you expect the whole system to actually work. Is it full state? Is it Market Areas with MAPI? Is it via Trade Hubs? I just don't see any concretion to the topic.

I think in final state its just vectorized weights applied for imports and exports for each good for each state in a market- I think that piece is easy enough. People freak out about the path algorithm but I don't think that changes very much and isn't a dynamic thing just can be boiled down to a single value at run time.

In a 10,000 ft view, this is what MAPI is anyways it just not dynamic between states, just flat and towards the market
