Long Campaign spanning games

I just finished playing my first Victoria Revolutions game. Didn't make the top 6 with Brazil, but loved the game.

I had been playing HOI 2 prior to that, and just bought Arsenal of Democracy.

Had played EU3 a bit, never got fully into that.

But now, I think I might try to play a long campaign, exporting to the next game when I finish. EU3 to Victoria to HOI.

But I'm not sure if it's possible to import to AOD. Also I think I need to use Victoria vanilla when exporting from EU3.

So, I'm asking whether anyone has done this recently. Does it work well? Are there any downsides? Anything I need to know before I get started?

Also, not sure what I'd be missing if I needed to play Victoria vanilla and Doomsday instead of Revolutions and Armageddon. Can anyone fill me in? Would it be mostly the same or big disappointment?

I have converted most games from Vicky to HoI2. Some few from CK to Vicky. And the most of them work well. But I never get any events on them so it's kinda boring. But I think there is a way to get events work with converted games but I never learnt how to do it.
