Greetings again to everyone:)
We of the BUB Clan are looking for more players who would like to play online games with us. You do not have to be part of a clan or join are clan to play. We would just like to see more people get into playing online games and would be more then happy to help set these games up. We are trying to set up a calendar of games on our website where people can post times when they are free to play and get in touch with other people who can also play at those times. As of now the BUB Clan usaully meets every tues-thurs at 9pm eastern time on v-net or ICQ if v-net is down. We would welcome any one who would like to come and join are games no experience is required, infact newbies are most welcomed to come and join:D If the times listed are not suited to your hours please fell free to e-mail, pm, or icq me the times you are available to play. Hey Bub..

How you guys doing with 1.04? You still getting as many crashes as the other night? How many people do you normally play with? What scenarios? How far do you get?

You guys seem to have been playing a lot recently, so I was curious as to your experiences - As frankly I've just given up for a little while.

In answere to your questions lets see...
1. Where doing allright with 1.04 could be better but after 1.03 no complaints:D
2. Most nights we don't get as many crashes as that night. That was a very frustrating evening all those players and everyone crashing:(
3. We usually have 3-5 players in the game.
4. We like to play the GC and Exploration.
5. The best game I have played in so far is a 2v2 where we have gotten up to 1450's. Although GUARDIAN ALEX and Aggressor have a game in which they have played over a 150 years.

Yeah, we did get 200 years with 3-5 players with 1.02, and that was very, very cool. My issue is I don't like to keep replaying the 1419-1450 period over and over.

Anyway, I'll hang out til 1.05 comes out. If Johan can fix the chat crash, it will be worth it for that reason alone..

I'm dying to try multiplayer. I've played through several GC's and, well, I just want a bit more. Ya know, that challenge that only another human being can provide.

So, is there a FAQ or something I can check out? I have a bunch of questions, so if they've already been answered somewhere, please point me in the right direction. Just in case they haven't been answered somewhere else, though, here they are:

1. I'm playing with 1.04, but also EEP 1.0b. Will that work with MP? Will I have to do a clean install and just patch to 1.04? Is it possible to have two installs on one computer, so I can use my EEP when I play alone, and just 1.04 in MP?

2. How does the whole time thing work? No pausing? Constant speed? Save games?

3. What countries are best? And how many people can be in the same game at the same time?

4. What kind of strategy is possible when playing with other players that isn't when playing against the computer? I would imagine that it makes the game a bit more complex and, obviously, realistic, but I haven't tried it yet, so I don't know.

Ok, well, super, I hope I'm able to give MP a try here pretty soon. Thanks.

Wow you have some good questions their:D I will look around the forum for threads that will help answere your questions. In the meantime I will help as best as I can:eek: Now I am no expert so any help from anyone else would be nice.

1. I don't really know much about the EEP since I have not used it. Although as far as I now it should work in MP. I have had two installs before on my computer before. All I did was put one folder containing version x in one place and the folder containing version y in another place then created shortcuts to both folders. Then when I wanted to play I used the shortcut to which ever version I wanted to play. I don't know if this is the best way but it worked for me:cool:
2. We play on 1min=2month as anything faster tends to crash the game to fast. We do pause often to allow the computers to catch up on lag and when we want to chat. We can also pause anytime a player request that we do. The save game works by the host saving it, and then when people join it unpacks on to their computer.
3. As far as the best countries everyone really has their own prefrences. The obvious choices are of course the major nations except for France in the GC if her enemies are human controlled. We sometimes like to play minor countries and see if we can rise them to glory. A maximum of 8 players can be in a game, but we have found that if you play with more then 5 then people crash almost immediately.
4. Basically the main thing that I have found with playing against other human opponets is that they are unpredictable. They could let some major insult or event go by and just shrug it off, but then turn around and declare war on you because you declined a royal marriage.

Ok now, I have been interested in MP for God knows how long, but I never can play. Is it because im useing the NA version?(1.04) Is there a site with rooms in it?(MSN gaming zone for example) The Valkyrienet thing, whenever it works(98% of the time it doesnt)no one is there. How is it that you can play???
 
Yes we are still looking for more players, we have a lot of different games to fill:D Anyways Jonicro just joined the BUB Clan the other day and is now setting up some games that will correspond with the european players better. When we talked of it yesterday we where thinking that games on Tues,Thurs,and the weekend at earlier GMT times would be good since my EST time games where a little to late at night for most european players. If anyone is still interested we have lots of players and games so it wont be hard to find you a game to play in.
