Losing my religion - Again!

I was trying out the IGC last night (great work guys!) and I brought up the Mughal Empire as my country and I thought, well, let me toy with the idea of changing to Shiite (yeah, I know, foolish, but thats why its a game) But I didn't have the option to convert! Why? Are some countries just hard coded so that they can never change? I know I can go in and edidt the the savegame files if I want but I thought that there was the ability to change religions (at least some).

conversions have to follow historical lines. You can't just decide to go from Catholic to Pagan for the heck of it. Shiite to Sunni or vice versa is not something that happened historically because of an event during the time period EU is covering. Hence that option is not available to you.

Pagan, Orthodox, and Muslim religions cannot convert ever(except forced conversion of Shite to Sunni in peace agreement). But any catholic religion can.

Oh well, to bad, I just thought it might be cool mught be fun to do something like that. On to other things then..... Thanks for the helpful replies!
