Just got the event which adds a barbarian power of 5 to a province on the edge of the map - no problem there. But the event said they were Germanic tribesmen and this was in Libya. Those guys must be REALLY lost. 
In the event that it matters, I do have provinces bordering the map edge up north of the black sea in addition to my egyptian holdings.
