Ok, it's Pentium II 350 Mhz 64 MB. ButIt'ds lower possible configuration on which you can play EU2 or recomended? I am considering buying EU2 for my father who has obsolete computer - something like K6 166 with 32 or 64 mb, will it run at it at all or it will just laugh iitself to death? Or processor will be fine and I will be needing only buy also more memory for my father's computer?

Also, I will buy from http://www.gry-online.pl/s016.asp?ID=1389, Polish version. I see there are some Polish version patches up to 1.06, can I assume that 1.07 and forward will be also _very soon now (c)_ localised?

There is also another question, but i guess none here will be able for answering it, but if by accident some Polish gamer or whatever is reading it, why it's so cheap? CD project on their page offers game for 99zlp,

I think the lowest playable configuration we had in beta was a pentium 200 Mhz with 128 MB memory. The memory is really the key. You can get away with a low speed processor but 128 mB is really minimum for acceptable speeds. It will run (just) with 64 MB

Yep...I agree with Derek on the system specs.

The Polish localisation is usually a little slow to arrive (1.06 was only posted in that last few days) but they'll get there eventually. :)

I think the pricing is as low as it is because there is a significant issue with piracy so they need to keep the cost of the legitimate version as low as possible to counter this.

I run EU2 without problems on a Pentium II 350MHz with 384MB (Win2000Pro). No problems, but slightly slower, on a K6-2 333MHz with 384MB (WinMe). With less memory, down to the configuration Derek Pullem indicates, a LOT slower. Memory is cheap - get max for your PII350. 64MB is not a good experience. If the K6 is fully compatible with the Pentium and will run the programme at all, you'll still need more memory to compensate for the slow processor.

Apart from the piracy issue, I presume CDProjekt want to optimise their sales in a market without a lot of purchasing power. Obviously there isn't a problem of underselling western European versions because of the language. That's the explanation I gave to Norwegian customs when clearing my Polish EU2 ordered from www.merlin.com.pl for zl 79, approx. USD 20. I just checked with Merlin, and they are selling EU1 and EU2 together as a package for zl 56, approx. USD 15.

I once achieved wonders with a 486/66 with 40MB, 1MB graphics, running programmes with a much higher minimum requirement. I don't think it would run EU1 though... I recommend you try on your father's machine, and if it works get more memory. Remember, you're likely to get a better result on an old system if the operating system and drivers are updated. Perhaps there is a (support) forum on CDProjekt's website as well? Good luck. :)

Pretty much what I thought...

#1 priority: RAM

#2: current drivers

#3: OS
