When you add a unit to an army the general's loyalty is increased by one. This is however not the case when you merge two armies. Merging has absolutely no effect on loyalty. Because of this I have to manually add units to my armies instead of just using the merge function. Could you please make merging have the same effects as adding units manually?

explain why merging would have an affect on loyalty if they are survivors of an existing cohort that already were in the army group? I don't see this as a bug in the game. Its a realistic showing that many cohorts were made and merged/absorbed into the other cohorts to make them stronger with out recruiting.

I think by merging he means joining two armies together not merging specific units together.

oh..well in that case its because you established the two armies with a general. I think if you have one army with a general another with no general then merge the armies you should get the bonus unless you had to move the recruited army to the general's army location.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. I can get the bonus now if I want to, it's just a lot of unnecessary work. All I propose is to make the outcome the same whether you take the long road or the short road. That may not be a bug in itself, but where else can you post a suggestion for a game change? Besides I can find no logical reason for the way things are right now, so maybe it is a bug. This way someone from PI is hopefully aware of things and he/she can choose whether to do something about it or not.
