Like many of us, I was annoyed that the PC version was so far ahead of us. However, has anyone visited the general forum and seen threads about the recent patches? It seems like a large proportion of players believe that that recent changes to the game broke the AI and have made micromanagement of planets overwhelming. Not to mention complaints about performance. Recent reviews of the game on steam seem to be mixed, as well.

The grass may not always be greener and I'm kind of glad that we will take some time to catch up. Hopefully these bugs are ironed out by then.

True, I felt 2.0 would have been an amazing time to drop the console into, Although I understand, when development started, 2.0 likely wasn't rock solid as it is now.

I do think it is better for them to release Stellaris in a less intensive state on the console so that they have time to figure out how to make it more efficient before they start going into the more difficult patches. It's still a ton of fun to play though, even on the older version.

Im loving the hell out of it from the perspective of someone who watched alot of the PC version but never played it. I really do want the console version to eventually get the future expansions but for now im willing to wait and enjoy the development cycle and support that hopefully will come for a while.

They did have to make some compromises to help with performance (600 max star systems) / 10 Max aliens

I hope they find a way to increase this further down the line, but the game still feels so large compared to other real-time strategy games on console.

Absolutely, there is nothing like this on Console. They might be able to update for the PS PRo and Xbox One S?

The Xbox One X could most likely run a more full game, but I don't know about the PS Pro and Xbox One S; but anything is possible.

Most people say the "updates" should have been a new game. Unfortunately, the console version will "update" as well.

The internet is a blessing and a curse, mostly a curse. "Updates" are often done via a committee, and the vocal minority wins out. Even when updates aren't via committee, developers cave in to customers rather than follow their own goals.
