I've never written something like this before and I'm not going to form it into anything like a first person story, but I just had an amazing game, or part of one, in my very first CK2 game and I had to share it.
My first ruler was Earl Diarmait of Leinster. The good Earl was a bit of a piece of work. He expanded his territory slightly by saving every penny and pushing the towns hard, but would probably be most remembered for the time he spent several years trying to fabricate claims on his son's territory because he forgot who he was related to. And best of all was when at 71 years old he married and immediately impregnated his new 20 year old wife.
His heir Duke Murchard I of Meath followed in his father philandering footsteps when he had an affair with his son's wife. His son was noticably not pleased.
His son the new Duke Domnall I of Meath married his Aunt, the daughter of the Earl and his 20 year old wife, who was also Duke Domnall's ward for a while. That was actually his third marriage since he had just finished quietly murdering his second wife.
He was succeeded by his brother Duke Enna who married his widow (very biblical).
All told these first four Kings ruled for 35 years and didn't quite manage to consolidate Ireland. But the next ruler was Catriona who came to power while only a baby but during her rule became first Queen of Ireland, then Queen of Wales, and near the end of her rule, Queen of England and Norway as well. Despite an unbroken string of successes and huge renown and piety, she also manged to birth and raise several children while conquering Britain, she was known for most of her rain as Queen Catriona "the Fat." Only in the last years of her life was she known as "the Conqueror." She ruled from cradle to grave an amazing 76 years becoming one of the foremost powers in Europe. Unfortunately her son couldn't hold on to it all and his short rain was marked by endless civil war and giving back much of the new provinces.
What a game.
