I can launch up the game just fine. I can play for a while just fine. The graphics are great at the highest level on my box and it only lags a little. So, its NOT minimum requirements.

I'm on OS X 10.6.7, fully updated, with the newest version of CiM on Steam (1.18) with a brand new top of the line Macbook.

While I'm playing, in very different trigger locations, the mouse will just stop working as will the keyboard. I can still access the Steam content (Command + Tab) and I can give commands to the OS via keyboard. But, the game continues to play, I just can't interact with it.

The animations continue on the screen. The time moves on. The cars drive around. But, I can't interact with the game at all.

Looking at the metro_log.txt file shows *nothing* unusual. Just "Load Game", then quitting.

The only way out of the game is to Force-Quit.

I'm not expecting a simple answer from the community, but I am trying to do this as
as much of a bug report as I can.

Are there any secret ways to get a stacktrace or dump out of the game while its playing?

Anyhow, any help you guys can give would be awesome.

I've got the same problem, it happends any time, on any map, without any specific set of actions or place to trigger it. I've read some different topics about it without any answer other than to run it under Bootcamp. But I don't want to buy a Windows license just to play CIM, even if I really want to play it.
Is there a chance that this bug will be corrected in the future ? Or as we are a small minority to have this bug, we just have spent some money for nothing ?

Hi,

I have exactly the same problem, it seems to come up when a lot of lines are already created.. by the way when is a mac patch coming up? You released the game to mac so you should be able to support it.

So you mean that the mac version currently is not as up to date as the windows version?
I am also playing on mac... but I thought I would be running the same kind of version the people do that are running it in windows.

But that is not the case?

Both windows and mac versions are 1.0.20
It looks like that the mac version still has some bugs. I'm sure the developers are aware of these problems and you will see a new patch soon.

i do hope that a lot of mac users can also play the game without problems.
Yes, I can play without problems on my macbook , but I did not play that much so maybe the problems come only after a while?
Ah and I see that Padryk74 only got problems when a lot of lines where created. I did not create that many lines yet, so maybe I will also get problems later on... :(

Exactly thats it, the game works more or less fine until the map has a lot of lines then the problems start the mentioned problem in this thread is only one of many discussed in this forum. The mac version has some bugs and problems that don't appear in the windows version of the game and there is thread where one of the admins here said that there will be patch for the mac version. But this is more than a month ago, and nothing heard again..

Same problem occurs with my imac too. But the game stops interacting after the load command, pressing play button. I press play button i can hear the voice and music but not interaction i see only mouse pointer.

The game wasn't designed to be playable in the fastest speed, the fastest speed is here if you need to wait (I use it if I want to get some money for building instead of taking a loan).

Maybe but it this is still a bug that should not happen, if the game slows down it is ok, but it should not get unresponsive and the mentioned error does not only happen in fast speed! And I get more and more worried that people from colossal are not reacting to problems of mac users.

Now who told you that, giladteller? The game should have been designed to run at any of its speeds, and on the windows version, it's never been a problem. I don't know where you get your info from?
