The new launcher works fine on Mac. The issue we are talking about is the old launcher in 2.0.4 not loading DLCs on Mac.
We're talking in circles at that moment, 2.04 has always been what I was referring to. As I posted earlier, I've tried XtremeName's fix, but couldn't get it to work, hence my comment of just having copy the save files over to play them on my PC.

The fact that this is never going to get fixed is rather infuriating.

It seems to be fixed in the current Beta.
Why should an old version get fixed, when the current Beta version, and thus very probably the next regular version as well, seems to be playable for low end machines ?

Because it's a giant middle finger to anyone with a Mac that wants to continue playing (or even loading to export to EU4) any of their pre-Raja games.

I am a former GamersGate CK2 non-Steam version user. You don't have to tell me anything about middle fingers by PDS.

And NO, older versions don't ever get post-fixed. None ever. So there is no reason to expect that, as long as the next regular version is playable. I assume it will.

If you want to post the steps you're taking, I'd be glad to review them and see if there's any issues! As Frederick can attest, my solution is rather complex and easy to make a mistake with, but based on my limited understanding of the problems/ways to fix them, it really should work for everyone still having the issue!

I am running beta 2.04. By opening the launcher manually, i can select dlc and mods but cannot play them. the terminal commands posted have not helped, but perhaps i am entering them wrong. I have been working on an Elder Kings game for 100+ hours and would really love to continue. Would someone be willing to post a video with the terminal fix? I am not an IT expert and terminal is like a different language to me.

EDIT: for clarification: I followed XxXtremeNameXxX's instructions up until step 4. the launcher pops up and i am able to select mods and dlc, but i cannot run any of them without the game crashing on startup

the update's new launcher works perfectly. however, now when i try to run a game in beta 2.0.4 it gives a "missing executable" error. I followed all the instructions for this sort of error on Steam's website but nothing helps. has anyone found a solution?

I have the same problem when trying to lauch 2.0.4 trough steam. Unfortunately I also have the problem with the 2.1.5 update that the launcher doesn't work. I start CK2 trough steam after which the launcher comes up. I keep al DLC checked, like I always have had, but when I press play, the launcher disappears, the screen goes white and it will crash. The program just seems to be getting stuck in loading. The game used to work perfectly before the update. Has anyone else had this problem? I haven't seen it anywhere online.

Yeah, I have the same problem, only mine works all the way up until it starts to load the flags and it crashes. It has worked perfectly since I bought it a few weeks ago, but today its gone haywire.

I'm getting crashes on both CK II and EUIV. Both launchers don't appear; instead I get an error window, informing me of what is being sent to Apple.

Hadn't played in about 6 months and was hopeful I'd be able to. Interestingly, I can't launch on my main computer (2011 iMac 27") but can on my other Mac (2013 mac mini).

Please start your own thread here, with full problem and system details. Thanks.

Well I have been getting along fine playing 2.0.4 on my 2010 Mac by using the file in the library rather than the Steam launcher-been writing an AAR too which has been well received...until last night when I decided to be a bit clever and order some new DLC that I intended to play once I had finished my Scotland game

Sadly now none of the DLC that I bought (specifically The Old Gods and Legacy of Rome as well as Celtic face packs) will now load-the game does but none of the DLC...I have seen some very techie workarounds but my mind goes blank when I see 'please open terminal' to use. Can anyone talk me through this as I will be heartbroken if I lose this excellent game

PS: when I try and launch the game from Steam I am still getting the 'missing executable' message. Shouldn't that be fixed by now?
