What do I do if game freezes on menu screen on mac? I tried reinstalling checking out modes and rm -rf Documents/Paradox Interactive/Eu4

i have deleted steam even. and all folders associated. Yes, I disabled all modes. This exact game worked month ago, then I reinstalled it and it stopped working. Its official version which steam has downloaded aka mac version. I think otherwise it woudn't go through all this first historical pictures and stuck instantly. But in my case it was trying to show me the main menu but failed and stuck
 
Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-EU4
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/EU4 AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/EU4 folders - In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam EU4 or Documents EU4 locations, before installing again.
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- start the game with no mods active and test

**File Locations on Mac OS X**
The executable and DLC folder are in Users/USER/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Europa Universalis IV/
To see it go to the Finder, hit command-shift-G (ie Go To) and type in ~/Library/ .
The user files (settings.txt, error logs, saved games, gfx, mods) are in /Users/USER/Documents/Paradox Interactive/Europa Universalis IV/ .


IF that doesn't help:
Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/EU4/settings.txt and pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/EU4/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log .

Also in Steam please click on Steam-Help-System Info, and paste everything there into a text file and attach that here.

I see no good reason for this problem in those files - the game is not officially supported on the M1 Apple Silicon hardware, but it ought to at least run.

What happens if you put it in fullScreen mode in the launcher's Game Settings menu?
