I know the Steam page is super barebones with system specs, but will EU5 arrive with Mac support like every other PDX game in the last couple of years? Also, has there been any potential info on optimising to a degree for the Steam Deck now that it's a thing?
I currently use my Steam Deck to play MP EU4 due to the horrific Mac bug that still has not been fixed, which crashes the game when a nation forms. I hope that if Mac support comes, it's much more fleshed out compared to EU4. :D

It's coming to Mac, and I would be shocked if it didn't. Paradox won't ignore such a large part of their addressable market.

I hope so, I just mainly hope that they make it playable since the nation formation bug pretty much makes MP and even singleplayer, to a degree, unplayable due to constant crashing, especially once tech 10 comes around.

i'm now looking at steam page system requirements. it's all TBC except operative system: Windows.n o sign of mac. I really hope is a place holder and that the Dev will support mac, even with the quirky notch that all new mac have and that will partially obscure some info

There are currently no plans for anything else than Steam and Windows.

iirc Mac support for Victoria 3 came sometime after release. I recall making music mods for the game without even opening it. I wouldn't be surprised if the same goes for EU V.

I have 1,000 hours in CK2, 1,200 hours in CK3, and 2,300 hours in EU4, all on a Mac. I'm genuinely heartbroken to find out that after a year of watching the development of this game I won't even get to play it...

Can you dual boot your pc? I dunno what the motherboard options are like on a mac, but you could always add a second os just for this game. Also, is there no option like Proton for mac?

The ARM Macs unfortunately don't allow dual booting or additional OSes. There is Wine/Whisky that can theoretically load some Windows games but it's hit or miss. I'm hopeful it'll work but even then that comes with its own host of issues.

That blows. Sorry to hear that my dude. I think your only options beyond whiskey/wine are like getting a new pc, or using a service like GeForce now to play remotely. :(

Really hope that's the case and it's just not planned for launch, tho still a bit of a shame I will have to wait. Maybe it will be on geforce now at launch and I can play that way haha.
