I have almost the same problem, Magicka Crash(doesn't load next area) on 9 chapter, after i'll try to pass the next area (after church, there are book with "Rise dead")

I reinsalled XNA, DirectX, NetFramework 4, cast some magick spells, ate sausage and it didn't help me

I have the same problem as the OP. In the Corpse city of Ryleh, while doing the puzzles. Mine crashes on area load when moving loading out of from the part of the puzzle where you have to use a rock shield to get across the ledge with the blowers and onto the ledge where you get the "Portal" spell book.

It also crashes if I leave the area with the blowers through the southern exit, clear the next area out and then leave that area via the western exit. I'm assuming these two routes lead to the same place hence it crashing.

Any feedback on this from the original guys?

Exact same problem as Dazed. When I finish this puzzle, I crash on either way I take to get out to the middle. Also, I noticed that if I go on the side I can find the spell book, the game loads for one minute before crashing, whereas if I go to the other side, it crashes automatically when I leave the puzzle zone to go to the middle (also, it is the last puzzle of the four that I solved).

Also, how do I run a DirectX diagnostic?

This may not be the ideal solution, but I "restarted" the entire area and was able to complete it fine the second time.

I'm not sure if I just got lucky in terms of the sequence I did things in or what, but it may be worth a try.
