Hello...

I've just bought CIM on Steam. The game loads to the main menu OK, but when I try to start a game (I've tried Tutorial, Sandbox and Campaign) it crashes to the desktop from the loading screen, when the progress bar is about half way along. No error message is displayed when this happens.

System specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 2.8GHz
Intel P43 chipset
4GB RAM
Radeon HD4830 with 512MB VRAM
Windows XP Home Edition

I've tried:

Uninstalling and redownloading the game from Steam
Launching the game by double clicking .exe, rather than Steam launcher
Updating ATi drivers (current version 11.11 according to Catalyst Control Center)
Deleting CIM directory from My Documents

None of which made a difference.

Any ideas?

OK, managed to resolve this by winding down the anti-aliasing settings from the default values. (Changing the graphic resolution to a low value, i.e. 1024x768, also seemed to work - but I'd rather play the game with less anti-aliasing than run it in a small window!)

Your computer is just about the minimum to play the game.
You can get a bit better performance by reducing everything to the minimum (You can keep the resolution as it is, so the GUI will not take all the screen).

To make the performance better you can start with the lowest graphic settings and then try which settings fits your hardware and your liking the best. Anti-aliasing and HDR lighting at least are on the heavier side. Using the system cursor might also help. I hope you get it working nicely!
