There are 5 levels total, not 6. 1 is the starter, 2-4 is standard smithy, 5 is dlc. Check again. It is physically impossible to have parts of the DLC missing with my fix. At the end of the day it is just data after all.

That's precisely what I was talking about, there are 4 levels in total. I've written "6 Weapon Upgrades", coming from the fifth level.

I am talking about the Example mission. Is it perhaps hard-coded to 4 in that case?

Hello,
I hope that I am right with posting this here, but I have a very strange problem. DLC fix works like a charm for base game, but I cant build anything with Monster kingdom. I launched Monster kingdom campaing and in the first mission I am not able to build any building. Every building category is empty, not greyed out, just empty squares. Did someone experineced something similiar? Or am I just missing something obvious? I wasn't able to find any mention about this kind of bug.

Hm, maybe. I have not tried that. Try a regular single mission, everything works for me.

This is definitely a bug! Thanks for reporting. I will look into this.

So I dug into the issue, and I have good news and bad news.

The bad news is:
It is a low level bug (actual bug in the engine). I cannot add the unit data to the resource.mod from 3rd expansion because that will overflow the static array that stores all unit info, and it is set to 300 objects. The even worse news is that finding where that is being allocated is a highly untrivial task, and would take easily from 2 weeks up to find in disassembly. I am not willing to put so much effort into this. I got around this in Cold Sunrise by repackaging all the data in 1 archive.

The good news is:
The expansion only has goblin kingdom data and goblin campaign. No DLC stuff applies to the 3rd expansion. This means that you can simply rename your resource.mod to resource.mod1, play the campaign, finish the campaign, and rename resource.mod1 back for vanilla + 2 first expansions + single missions.

It is a bit ugly, sorry for that. But it will work.

When I rename in "Majesty 2 Collection" the folder from Resource.mod to something else, and run the Monster addon, I get:
Application aborted!
Cannot find rpg parameters for entity "logovo_goblin_shaman".
Check file "/gamedata/units/rpg_params.xml" for errors

Or did you mean to re-run the batch file or something? Or do I need to get ahold of the original Majesty 2.exe to run instead?

Curses. Executable does need some data from RPGParams after the fix. But if I include that data in the resource.mod, the expansion will stop working.

I need to think, I don't see an immediate solution.

Alright, voting time.

There are several ways I can solve the problem.

1. Just the the fix to the game. Editor not getting the DLC data, modding practically impossible (no balance patch that I released). Fastest, I can release this in 30 minutes.
2. Just fix the 3rd expansion. Requires me to perform some shenanigans with resources. Game will run perfectly fine, but if you select any of the of the 3rd expansion units in the editor, you will get a crash. 1 day of work. Size pretty much the same.
3. Fix the 3rd expansion properly, aka editor does not crash. About 3 days of work. Download size grows from 60 mb to ~500 mb.

Up to you. whatever option gets most votes wins.

Personally, I do not care about the editor, so option 1 is fine. If you can apply option 2, that would please both sides, but I don't know if anybody is doing stuff with the M2 editor these days.

It works! I can build the simple buildings in Monster Kingdom. I don't see any options to build Temples yet, I'm assuming I get them later in the campaign. It's been a long time since I've played this.

Thanks again!

No prob, glad that it works. Is everything else working? I had to shuffle quite a lot of files and data pieces around, always exists a chance that i broke something.

I tried out V2 of the fix. I played the first level of Monster Kingdon! Seems to work fine so far! So glad you were able to find your work around! Thanks for this, it's amazing!

EDIT: I'm playing level 2 of the Monster Kingdom... and the hover is WORKING! Not sure why it didn't work on the first level. So, perhaps there isn't an issue here!

Side note (probably not related to your fix): On Monster Kingdom, I can't just hover the mouse over buildings or my people, or enemies to see their health. I have to actually click them. This is kinda a pain. It could be the way it worked originally and not related to anything you have done. I loaded an old normal mission on 3rd expansion, and it let me hover the mouse to see health normally. Is there any way , since you are such a genius, lol, to fix this weirdness on Monster Kingdom?

Эль Капитано, у мну тут вопросик, а на русифицированную активатор попрет? или заново ставить буржуйскую версию?
