I've noticed Majesty Gold HD on Steam, where the store description states "The game can now be set to run at all common resolutions." Now, I had purchased Majesty Gold (non-HD) some time back from... Gamersgate, was it? Pretty sure. Anyhow, I ran into a nasty problem when I upgraded to a widescreen monitor... that is, for some reason, all non-widescreen games would get the top portion of the screen cut off. With some games, this was no problem, but with Majesty, it cut off a sizable portion of my minimap, which I considered a gamebreaker. I've tried countless times to resolve this issue, but nothing seems to work?

Is Majesty Gold HD widescreen compatible? I would love to be able to play my all-time favourite PC game again...

some of the screenshots for it on the steam page are widescreen. so I'm going to go out on a limb and say yes it's widescreen compatible.

isn't it a little weird and presumptious to just have that new hd version replace the old majesty gold for steam users? I find that really weird. although I'm sure everyone do want that hd version over the old gold, but it seems to me it should ask before removing, replacing or changing something on your account.

They didn't replace it for me. I have both Majesty Gold and Majest Gold HD in my library. However they do seem to have removed Majesty Gold from the Steam store so if you don't have it already your out of luck. Though not sure why anyone would need it.

I am running it at 1600x900 so apparently it supports multiple wide screen resolutions and not just one. I never really thought of 1600x900 as being in the standard sort of resolution until I bought a laptop, and then found out many laptops come with a 1600x900 if they don't come with the larger 1920x1080
