An odd and old set of questions for the original Majesty. This place is still linked on Majestyquest.com as the Majesty forums, so it'd be nice if you could help. Title says it. What's the minimum INT requirement to learn the minor spells Power Blast and Fire Shield?

Also, how much does a Library raise the INT of new Heroes by, and does it stack with multiple Libraries?

Next, do Libraries count as beautification buildings, allowing for Fountains and thus more Tax Collectors?

Lastly, are there restrictions on what heroes will learn the minor spells? Will a Healer not bother regardless of INT, for instance?

IIRC, a hero needs min. int of 9 or so to learn spells at the library. I can't recall what the exact formula is, but 1 library grants a +1 bonus, 3 grant +2, and Talespinner managed to get Warriors of Discord to qualify by building, like, 70 or something. I don't think libraries count toward fountains.

I think every class has the theoretical potential to visit the library, but it's so far down their decision tree in most cases that it almost never comes up, even when their int qualifies 'em. Which sucks. In practice, priestesses, monks, and to some extent elves are the most likely candidates, but even they won't do it while there is anything else of even remote interest happening on the map.

* INT requirement 11 (you should know that Alfryd! From HoA :p)
* Yes, multiple libraries stack, but you need more each time for a +1 boost. Not quite sure the formula, since the prima guide itself is kind of vague on it.
* No fountains
* While it's low on the list for pretty much all heroes, some can never learn said spells. From the top of my head; Paladins, Healers and Wizards.

It's just those three. Grash listed them over at the HoA forums when we were tossing around the idea of blocking them from learning the spells in HoA (which I still think is doable).

Thanks for the info, Hassat.

I can't imagine why they're not allowed in the original game though. I mean, maybe the devs assumed that wizards already have more powerful versions of the same spells, but do paladins/healers have some kind of ethical hangup on the subject, or what?
